SFinSF

On February 21, please join the American Bookbinders Museum as we host SF in SF and authors Charlie Jane Anders and Lisa Goldstein, who will read from current work, then participate in an interview hosted by Terry Bisson.  Doors open at 5:30; the program begins at 6pm.

Allthebirds 2Charlie Jane Anders is the host of the award-winning San Francisco reading series Writers with Drinks; the co-editor of the SF blog io9; and the author of six novels, including the critically acclaimed All The Birds in the Sky.  Michael Chabon wrote that All the Birds in the Sky “darts and soars, with dazzling aplomb,” while Lev Grossman called it “a magnificent novel–a glorious synthesis of magic and technology, joy, and sorrow, romance and wisdom. Unmissable.”

WeighingShadowsLisa Goldstein has published ten novels and dozens of short stories. Her most recent novel is Weighing Shadows. Goldstein received the National Book Award for The Red Magician and the Sidewise Award for her short story “Paradise Is a Walled Garden.” Her work has been nominated for the Hugo, Nebula, and World Fantasy Awards. Some of her stories appear in the collection Travellers in Magic.

For over a decade SF in SF has offered readings, films, and special events in the Bay Area for readers of science fiction, fantasy, and speculative fiction. Hosted by Terry Bisson, past guests have included Neil Gaiman, Cory Doctorow, Karen Joy Fowler, and Nalo Hopkinson. We hope you will join us!
