Entrance

We have an ADA door opener at our main entrance on 355 Clementina Street, to the right of the door.

As you walk in, there is a wheelchair accessible ramp immediately to the left, and a few steps in front of the door are 3 steps that lead down to the museum main floor. Both lead to the Admissions console.

We have a back entrance at 854 Folsom street at street level. A slight ramp leads to our back door. Use the doorbell located to the left of the door to gain access to the museum.

Support Persons

Professional Personal Care Attendants (PPCA) accompanying a paying visitor who requires care are not charged admission. An admission ticket can be obtained onsite at the museum’s Admissions console.

Service Animals

Service animals on a leash and under their owner’s control are welcome.

While Visiting

All publicly available museum spaces are on the main floor.

Lightweight, portable gallery stools are available at tour station 1 on the museum floor for use while touring the museum. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Use of personal mobility devices and motorized vehicles are allowed on the lowest speed setting.

Blind or Partially-Sighted

We recommend our audio tour that is accessible on your smart phone or tablet, The museum has tablets for checked out if needed at no addition cost. Ask at the Admission console for assistance in navigating the museum and for verbal descriptions of objects on the museum floor. We will do our best to accommodate you.

Deaf or Hard of Hearing

We have a printed transcript of the audio tour. Request it at the Admissions console if needed.

Restrooms

We have 2 ADA accessible single-stall restrooms. Both are equipped with baby changing stations.

Families

We allow breastfeeding and bottle-feeding in all spaces.
