Pedro Páramo, by Juan Rulfo Prepared for the exhibition “Pliegues de la Memoria” presented at the “Juan Rulfo” Bookstore, of the Fondo de Cultura Económica, in Madrid, Spain, in May and June 2018. Technique: the construction of the shawl, that is, the original cover, was intervened and sewn on a loom, with cotton thread, by the textile designer Mariel Andrea Tapia Luna. The loose leaves were hand-embroidered with human hair on Japanese paper to form the booklets, which have been sewn with blood-dyed cotton thread just like the edges of the book. The rebozo as an object of protection but also as one of the Mexican symbols under which a violent history is found. 17.5 x 13 cm 2017-2018
