Le tour du monde en quatre vingt jours/(Around the World in Eighty Days, original French edition), by Jules Verne
Prepared for the International Competition of the 8th World Art Bookbinding Biennial, held in Paris, France, in 2005: “Un calendrier a pendre au mur”, conceived as a metaphor for time, since this is the central element of the novel.
Technique: made of sheepskin leather with colors that refer to the French flag. The base of the book is in turn the cover, on the back the ribs of the seam stand out. The author’s name was made with leather letters, embedded and the title hand-painted with Chinese ink.
