The Mariage of Figaro, edición original en francés, de Pierre Caron de Beaumarchais

Prepared for the International Competition of the 10th World Art Bookbinding Biennial, held in Paris, France, 2009.

The book presents the two theater masks as the main image: the comic and the tragic, since these define the facets of life within the drama.

Technique: bound in cotton cloth with ribbons and satin cloth, carved edges, spine and exposed seam. Double cover and back cover that can be separated from the book, with the title of the work and the author made in beads, sewn with linen thread. The book is presented open with the shavings of the songs as a celebration (the rice that is thrown at weddings) and on a black shawl that emulates the stage of the theater.
