Join bookbinder Melanie Antuna Hewitt in a discussion of her process and inspiration from a century of modern design. Hewitt’s books exude simple decorative forms and movement. She will discuss pairing design with techniques such as tooling, inlays, and embossing. Her bindings reflect the simple elegance of Art Deco, the spare intensity of Mid-century Modern, and a thoroughly modern aesthetic. As a binder and instructor she will share insights into integrating technique and design.
