Open your mind to the many creative possibilities of one-of-a-kind artist books. Learn how to create whimsical, light-hearted bindings that are interactive, structural, and multi-dimensional with book artist Kit Davey. Davey creates books from found and natural materials such as coins, sheets of mica, and teabags. Through these additional elements, the books are not only items that we connect with, but that connect with us.
At the end of the webinar, Kit will teach participants how to make a triangular page book from only a single piece of paper. Leave the workshop with a new skill and an understanding of various joyful book structures.
About the Binder: Kit Davey is a Redwood City, California-based artist specializing in book art. Kit has taught over 70 different book structures, holding her classes by Zoom so students the world over can join her. Kit’s mission is to “spread delight across the planet”. Her work is available on her website (www.Found-Object-Art.com) and at SF Bay Area art events. She makes a book a day and shares them on Instagram: @daveykit.
