Workshop: Case Binding

A special workshop for you and maybe that special someone?

Case bindings are one of the most common forms of hardcover bindings. They have been around since the 1450s. Their popularity is due in large part to the rise of the printing press and the rise of cheaper books through 19th-century mass production.

Case bindings are sturdy and long-lasting. They can be decorated with a multitude of coverings such as cloth, leather and paper. Adding headbands, endpapers, and additional finishing and you have a masterpiece! Create your own case binding with the American Bookbinders Museum on Saturday, February 14th, at 12pm.
