Monthly Bookbinding Workshop: Limp Wrapper

Limp Wrapper Coptic Sewn Binding:

You will explore the Coptic binding style with a limp wrapper cover. This is a beginner to intermediate bookbinding workshop where you will fold, collate, trim and Coptic sew a text block—then cover it with a limp wrapper.

Coptic stitching is one of the oldest know bookbinding methods originating in the 2nd century. It utilizes a chain stitch allowing pages to lay flat. Coptic bindings can be sewn through a hardcover  but can also be covered with a limp wrapper, which is one piece of paper wrapped around the text block with the first and last page tucked into the cover.

Experience for this class is recommended but not required. Class-size is limited to 12 people per workshop. Reserve your spot today!

Cost: $45 per person, all materials will be provided.
Instructor: Alexandra Sarette
