Monthly Bookbinding Workshop: Centipede Stitch Journal

Join us for a creepy-crawly binding using embroidery techniques on the spine and cover. This centipede binding utilizes two needles and incorporates both Coptic stitch and embroidery techniques. The embroidery results in a decorative effect that looks like centipedes crawling across the book spine.

Also known as the caterpillar stitch, you can customize the stitch to look like all sorts of abstract and organic forms. It can be used as a binding stitch on an exposed spine binding. Incorporating Coptic and French Link stitches to your binding results in a nice, tight spine.

Cost: $30 per person, includes hands-on workshop and materials
