Staff News: Our New Volunteer Coordinator

StephanieStokesThe ABM is delighted to announce that Stephanie Stokes has joined the Museum as Volunteer Coordinator. Stephanie comes to us from the Commonwealth Club, where she was Member and Guest Services Specialist; prior to that she worked at the Exploratorium and the Museum of Craft and Design. She has a wealth of experience working with, and recruiting, volunteers; her hiring signals a new phase in the Museum’s commitment to involve both current friends of the ABM, and the larger community of the Bay Area. We’re happy to add Stephanie’s energy, enthusiasm, and smarts to our team.

The Museum is also pleased to announce that Madeleine Robins has recently been promoted to the position of Operations Manager for the American Bookbinders Museum. Madeleine has more than 30 years of comprehensive professional experience in the book publishing industry. Her expertise spans core industry management functions, with particular emphasis on workflow management and creative problem solving. Throughout her professional career, Madeleine has managed workflow and operations for publishing venues as varied as Tor Books, Acclaim Comics, and Klutz Press. As a founding member of the publishing consortium Book View Cafe, Madeleine developed processes for sales reporting and royalties distribution. Her work for the past year managing special projects at the Museum makes her the ideal person for Operations Manager. The American Bookbinders Museum is delighted to have Madeleine in this new role.
