Please join us for authors Nancy Kress and Jack Skillingstead, reading and in conversation with Tachyon Publications publisher Jacob Weisman.

Nancy Kress is the author of thirty-three books, including twenty-six novels, four collections of short stories, and three books on writing. Her work has won six Nebulas, two Hugos, a Sturgeon, and the John W. Campbell Memorial Award, and has been translated into two dozen languages, including Klingon. In addition to writing, Kress teaches around the country and abroad, including a visiting lectureship at the University of Leipzig, a 2017 writing class in Beijing, and the annual intensive workshop Taos Toolbox. Kim Stanley Robinson has called her “One of the best science fiction writers working today.”

Jack Skillingstead has published over forty short stories in professional and semi professional markets. He has also published two novels and a story collection. His work has appeared in four Year’s Best Anthologies and has been translated into various languages, including Russian, Polish, Czech, Spanish, French, and Chinese. Skillingstead has been nominated for the Philip K. Dick Award and the Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Award. In a review of Are You There and Other Stories, Tangent called Skillingstead “a major author in the genre of SF.”
