Opening Reception for Book Smart: Learning to Break the Rules

Join the American Bookbinders Museum in celebrating the opening of Book Smart: Learning to Break the Rules, a joint exhibition of works by instructors and students at San Francisco Art Institute, Mills College, and Oregon College of Art and Craft. In addition to the opportunity to see the works on exhibit, you can meet some of the artists and hear remarks by instructors Rhiannon Alpers, Julie Chen, and Barbara Tetenbaum. Light refreshments and excellent conversation will be served.

American Bookbinders Museum

The American Bookbinders Museum is the only museum of its kind in North America, celebrating and exploring the history, tools and stories of bookbinders and bookbinding, from its earliest forms through the changes and innovations of the industrial revolution.

In addition to the craft and artistry of binding, we focus on the stories of the men, women, and children who worked in binderies.
