Description of Britain, originally made available the British public in 1480 by William Caxton, the first printer in England. His text has been modernized, illustrated with woodcuts, engravings, and illuminated manuscripts from Caxton's days as well as modern photographs.
Based on Caxton's version of a 14th century Middle English translation of the Latin Polychronicon of Ranulf Higden, which was printed in 1498 by Wynkyn de Worde under title: The description of England.
