Bound in green cloth with gilt titles to spine. Stamped design to front cover depicting array of alpine flowers below a circle of snow-covered mountains against a blue sky. Floral decorated endpapers. Lithographed by Werner and Winter, Frankfurt. Later editions issued with dust jackets, but without the decorated cover and the chromolithographed plates.
